We need someone to document the emergency procedures that should be in place at all meets in case of an accident or a lost person. We have some preliminary information collected; the information needs to be organized and written out clearly in a document. Additional research will be necessary to augment the preliminary information we have on hand.

Organizing an orienteering meet takes a lot of volunteer time and effort. We'd like to formalize a Volunteer Incentive Program to encourage more volunteering and recognize the efforts of regular volunteers. A program similar to that implemented by Rocky Mountain Road Runners has been proposed (i.e., volunteers who accumulate X volunteer hours in a year receive a very cool award such as a club jersey and/or a recognition dinner).
We need someone to design and formalize this program, with inputs from RMOC members and officers.

Some of our maps need to be updated, and many areas have been proposed for new maps to be created.
Creating a new orienteering map is a labor- and time-intensive process. We need volunteers to help with many aspects of the process, such as: evaluation of proposed areas for suitability; contacts with land management agencies to discuss permit / access issues; research of aerial photo and base map availability; field checking; etc.
Several projects are already underway, in various stages of development. Contact Sherry Litasi if you'd like to learn more: 303-324-2305. Or, join one of our monthly conference-call meetings (see the "Meetings" page for details).
